Providing support, advice, and help for the blogs at Penn State project.

Where have all the blogs gone?

When I look at the list of blogs in my System Overview, some of them are not there. I have to search for them (which has tended to be very slow) in order to find them and work on them. Why aren't they all appearing? Also, why does the search function seem to work so slowly?

Adding Editors

When I add an editor to my blog, is there any way to see what rights they have, other than to open their profile and see what I have assigned them? I know that I can do the quick search by group name.

Multiple blogs

Ok, let's try this. Say I want to have two blogs. I see how to create them and to manage between them using the program. But how do I have them both show up on the same static page? I want to have a tab for each of the two blogs on the same page. Can this be done?

Linking to photos

What is the code for inserting an image in a blog entry from a link to a photo on another site?
For example, this is a picture on CNN that I want to have appear on my site:

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/06/t1home.wallst.mon.04.ap.j...

I want to do this to avoid downloading the image and saving it on my blog. Google's Blogger has an easy to tool to do this. I looked in the Movable Type documentation, but I probably wasn't searching for the right thing. Thanks.

Home blog page and default set up

I started a new blog after having an old one. I would like to have my old blog which I still use to be linked to a tab at the top of my new blogging area. How do I do that?

How can I link what I want to the 'home' page on the tab that is set by default?

Top Navigation

Before I ask about navigation issues, I just want to say the information here has been extremely useful. Here's what I'm trying to do. I am using the new professional template. I was able to add a new box to the navigation tab for my courses along with the standard Home, Blog, About and Contact tabs. I would like to add the same type of navigation to my courses page, but I am stuck. Any suggestions?

CSS for Professional Websites

Ok...I was a little confused about stylecatcher (I thought it had more options to edit the style of the blog), now my problem is that I generally like the professional website base style, but want to tweak it a bit more to my liking. When I go to the css (of both the base style and professional blue style) I get the html code for the style but that html isn't producing the style that it does when it links to it (i.e. import url(https://blogs.psu.edu/mt4/mt-static/themes-base/blog.css);import url(https://blogs.psu.edu/mt4/mt-static/support/themes/professional-blue/pro...);). If it links it gives me the blue bar accross the top, topnav bar and the like... but when the script is saved as the .css many of those features are missing. Any help?

Plugins?

How do I add plugins to movable type? I can download the plugin but don't know where the mt-static and plugin directories for my account are...

"Learching header"

Is there any way to keep the header from jumping to the right about 5-10px when you move from any other page to the blogs page?
