I renamed a blog and attempted to re-publish it, but receive this error:
Reading from filehandle failed at lib/MT/FileMgr/Local.pm line 142.
The original name was
brett_bixler_e-portfolio
The new name
portfolio
It looks like the name took internally, but now it's not possible to publish anymore.
1) I want to add scrolling text and videos to my blog. How do I do this?
2) How do I add spit links to pages. For example, on CNN.com they have a "top story" and then separate links to other stories next to it. I want to have two columns like that. It seems whenever I had more info to my homepage (index page with the banner) it keeps forming one long article like format. Here is my blog in case you need it
http://www.personal.psu.edu/mps5056/blogs/penn_state_networking_club/

When I try to publish or change my template, I get:
"An error occurred publishing entry 'New design launched using Movable Type': Publish error in template 'Entry': Error in tag: error in module Footer: Publish error in template 'Footer': Error in tag: error in module Sidebar: Publish error in template 'Sidebar': Error in tag: Error in tag: Error in tag: Error in tag: Can't find included template module 'Sidebar - 2 Column Layout'"
Using professional templates.
Specifically, I'm looking at TwitThis
to add as a widget I can then add to the Main Sidebar widget set.

Are there any plans to provide a PSU oriented style for the professional blog?
Even a link to a tasteful header photo similar to the one used on ITS Training would be helpful.

Is there a way to change the ID of the page? It would help me place the top navigation tabs in a custom order instead of in the order in which I create the pages (I'm assuming that's it - it isn't alphabetical order).
Thanks
Elizabeth

It seems like the use of the @ symbol in the tag field to do particular things does not allow you to add other tags to that field. If you, for example, add @home to a page, then that page can no longer be tagged with other content-related words. So if I created a portfolio with a publications page, and put "@topnav" in the tags field, I can't seem to add "publications" to the tag field, as well.
Is that correct?
Stevie
This was a question from a faculty member - is there an easy (non-HTML) way to do this? Wouldn't this be a nice tool to have - push a button and have that blog become the start page for your personal.psu.edu space?
I've noticed lately that items that should be in the second column of my blog WhitePine are appearing on the bottom. I must have inadvertently changed something in the template but I'm not sure what. Can anyone tell me what it might be? Thanks.
I would like to be able to pull content in from another MT (PSU) blog and have one entry (the most recent) appear in another blog. Is there way to modify a template or module to do this? If so, are there directions anywhere?
I would like the most recent blog entry int he other blog to appear in the current blog, without having to import any content. This way when the other blog gets a new entry, this blog (the target) gets updated automatically with that most recent entry.
